Ready to get started?
Let's get the garment steamer ready for use!
- 1. Fill the water tank
- Make sure the garment steamer is switched off and the plug is not yet in the socket. Press the release button and remove the water tank from the device. Open the rubber filler cap and fill the tank with the included measuring cup (100 ml) up to the MAX marking. The water tank has a capacity of 270 ml.
We recommend using distilled or demineralised water. This reduces the risk of limescale build-up and keeps your garment steamer in good condition for longer. Close the filler cap and click the water tank back onto the device. - 2. Check the dust filter
- Before you start steaming, always check that the dust filter is correctly placed in the device. This filter keeps the suction mode working properly and collects loose hairs, fluff and dust.
- 3. Let the garment steamer heat up
- Plug the device into the socket and press the on/off button
. The indicator strip will now flash red while the device heats up. This takes about 25 seconds. Once the strip stops flashing and stays solid red, the TS Refine is ready to use and is set to Steam Mode I
by default.
Start steaming!
Now that the garment steamer has heated up, the real work can begin. Let's get a garment wrinkle-free.
- 1. Hang up the garment
- Hang the garment on a clothes hanger so it hangs freely. Prefer to steam it flat, for example on an ironing board? That's possible too, in both Steam Mode I
and II
.
- 2. Start steaming
- Press the steam button to start steaming. The device is set to Steam Mode I
by default, suitable for light or delicate fabrics.
- 3. Turn on suction mode
- Press the suction mode icon
. This pulls the fabric taut against the steam plate and holds it in place, so you don't need to hold the fabric with your other hand.
- 4. Move steadily over the fabric
- Gently place the aluminium steam plate against the garment and move it slowly, preferably from top to bottom. Do you have a thicker or heavily wrinkled fabric, such as denim? Switch to Steam Mode II
for a higher steam output.
Your garment isn't just wrinkle-free, it's freshened up too, without washing.
Which steam mode should you use?
The TS Refine has two adjustable steam modes. This lets you match the amount of steam to the fabric you're steaming.
| Mode | When should you use this mode? |
|---|---|
Use this mode for light or delicate fabrics, such as silk or viscose. This mode provides a lower steam output. | |
Use this mode for thicker, heavier or heavily wrinkled fabrics, such as denim. This mode provides a higher steam output. |
Important things to remember
- Check the care label first Not all fabrics are suitable for steaming. Always check the care label, or test the garment steamer first on a small, inconspicuous part of the fabric.
- Never steam clothing while wearing it The steam and the metal steam plate get hot and can cause burns. Always steam clothing while it's hanging on a hanger or lying flat.
- Point the steam away from your body Always keep the steam and the steam plate pointed away from your body and hands to prevent burns.
- Keep moving Don't hold the steam plate still in one spot for too long. Move it steadily over the fabric to prevent damage.
- Don't use cleaning products in the water tank Only fill the TS Refine with water. Never add cleaning products, fragrances or other chemicals to the water tank.
