Minerals in tap water leave limescale behind in the water tank and internal lines over time. This can make the steam output weaker or irregular. Regular descaling helps keep your TS3 steaming well and extends the lifespan of the device.

When should you descale the TS3 Steam Cleaner?

• Do you use tap water? Then descale the steam cleaner once a month.
• Do you use demineralised or distilled water? Then limescale forms less quickly, but we still recommend checking the device regularly and descaling preventively when the steam becomes less powerful.
• Notice the steam weakening or coming out intermittently? Then it's time for a descaling session.

How to descale the TS3 Steam Cleaner

1. Turn off the steam cleaner and let it cool down completely

Make sure the TS3 is off, the plug is unplugged and the device has cooled down completely before you start descaling.

2. Open the water tank

Unscrew the water tank cap. Is there still water in the tank? Then pour it out completely into the sink.

3. Add the Techweise descaler

Put one full sachet of Techweise descaler into the water tank. Only use the official Techweise descaler. Other agents can affect internal components or void the warranty.

4. Fill the water tank with water

Then fill the water tank with clean water up to the maximum level. Don't fill the tank beyond the maximum capacity of 2500 ml.

5. Let the mixture soak for 2 hours

Let the descaling mixture sit in the water tank for 2 hours. Don't switch on the device during this step. This way the descaler has time to loosen limescale and mineral residue.

6. Empty the water tank completely

After 2 hours, pour the descaling mixture completely out of the water tank into the sink.

7. Rinse the water tank well

Rinse the water tank well with clean water. Optionally repeat this once more so that no descaler residue remains.

8. Let the device dry

Let the TS3 air and dry briefly before screwing the cap firmly back on and storing the device.

Important to know

• Don't use vinegar or other chemicals Don't use vinegar, cleaning agents, fragrances or other chemicals in the water tank. The TS3 is made for use with water and the official Techweise descaler.
• Empty the water tank after each use Standing water can develop odours and increases the chance of limescale buildup. By emptying the tank after use and storing the device dry, your steam cleaner stays in good condition longer.
