Ready to get started?
Let’s prepare the steam cleaner for use!
- 1. Fill the water tank
- Remove the tank cap and fill the water tank with approximately 750 ml of water. Preferably use distilled water — this reduces the risk of limescale buildup and helps keep your steam cleaner in good condition for longer. Then firmly screw the tank cap back onto the appliance.
- 2. Choose your accessory
- Attach the accessory you want to use. Connect the pin part and the socket part together; the coupling button will click into place automatically. Never use the steam cleaner without an accessory — the pressure will drop and steaming will become less effective.
- 3. Let the steam cleaner heat up
- Plug the power cord into the socket. The indicator light flashes 5 times while the appliance heats up. As soon as the light stays on continuously (after approximately 10 seconds), the TS Compact is ready for use.
Start steaming!
Now that the steam cleaner has heated up, the real work can begin. Let’s start with an easy surface: the countertop.
- 1. First spray out the condensation water
- First point the steam outlet toward the sink and briefly press the steam button. This sprays the excess condensation water out of the hose. This prevents your cloth or the surface from becoming too wet — especially important when using the white microfiber cloth or mop pad.
- 2. Use the triangular brush
- For a flat surface such as the countertop, you can use the triangular brush. Is the surface sensitive to scratches, such as an induction hob or extractor hood? Then attach the white microfiber cloth over the triangular brush.
- 3. Gently steam the surface clean
- Press the steam button and slowly move the steam cleaner over the countertop. Do you want to steam continuously without holding the button down? Slide the button lock into place. Pay extra attention to areas with grease, sauce residue, or caked-on dirt.
- 4. Clean edges and seams with the jet nozzle
- For edges, seams, the rim of the sink, and the area around the tap, use the jet nozzle, optionally in combination with the nylon brushes. This allows you to clean more precisely in areas where dirt builds up more quickly.
- 5. Wipe the countertop dry
- After steaming, wipe the surface clean and dry with a clean microfiber cloth. Steam loosens dirt, but the loosened dirt still needs to be wiped away afterward.
Your countertop not only looks clean, but has also been hygienically cleaned with hot steam, without chemical products.
Which steam setting should you use?
The TS Compact has a wet and a dry steam setting. With the steam selection button, you can adjust the steam to suit what you are going to clean.
| Setting | When should you use this setting? |
|---|---|
Wet steam | Use this setting for thorough cleaning, for example on dirty grout lines or stubborn dirt. This setting releases more moisture. |
Dry steam | Use this setting when you want less moisture, for example on floors or more delicate surfaces. This setting has a higher temperature and is also ideal for disinfection. |
Important things to remember
- Spray out excess water first When the appliance has not been used for a while, spray once into the sink to drain excess condensation water. This prevents your cloth or surface from becoming too wet.
- Keep moving Never hold the steam nozzle still in one spot for too long. By continuing to move slowly, you prevent a surface from receiving too much heat or moisture.
- Wipe immediately Steaming loosens dirt, but you still need to wipe it away. Use a clean drying cloth to absorb loosened dirt and condensation immediately after steaming. This helps prevent streaks or moisture marks.
- Test first Not entirely sure whether the surface can be steamed? Always try the steam cleaner on a small, inconspicuous area first and consult the material’s manual.
- Keep accessories close to the surface Steam loses pressure and temperature as it moves farther away from the outlet. Therefore, keep the accessory as close to the surface as possible during cleaning for the best result.
- Do not use cleaning agents in the water tank Fill the TS Compact only with tap water or distilled water. Do not add cleaning agents, fragrance products, or chemicals to the water tank.
Finished steaming?
Take good care of your steam cleaner, and it will take good care of you. With a little care and the right maintenance, you can keep it in top condition.
- Let the steam escape safely Unplug the power cord from the socket. Then point the steam outlet toward the sink or a bathtub and press the steam button until no more steam comes out.
- Let it cool down safely Allow the heating unit to cool down for at least 5 minutes before opening the tank cap or storing the appliance.
- Empty the water tank Remove the tank cap and pour the remaining water out of the tank. Standing water can start to smell and increases the risk of limescale buildup.
- Let the appliance dry Let the TS Compact air out and dry briefly before screwing the tank cap back on. Then store the appliance and accessories dry to prevent mold from forming.
- Descale monthly Just like your coffee machine, your steam cleaner does not like limescale. To maintain strong steam performance and prevent limescale buildup, it is important to descale the TS Compact monthly with the official Techweise descaling agent.
